Barossa Food & Wine Experience

Travel through the city of Adelaide to the world renowned Barossa wine region. Enjoy the change of scenery as you make your way into the vineyards of South Australia’s premium wine region.

Your first stop is TeAro Estate, in he main street of Williamstown in a heritage listed 1850’s barn. In the intimate tasting Room, you will be treated to morning tea sourced from the local bakery and wine tastings while hearing stories from 4 generations of family vignerons.

The next stop is a visit to Maggie Beer’s Farm Shop, an absolute must while visiting the Barossa. Maggie Beer – cook, writer and founder of ‘Maggie Beer Products’, offers tastings and sales of her full product range including limited edition seasonal produce. her you can browse among her personally selected regional specialty goods, purchase one of her signed books or simply sit back and take in the view.

On arrival at Lambert Estate at Angaston, you will enjoy a structured wine tasting whilst sampling local seasonal produce from gourmet platters. Main course follows, and is a feast for the senses, with two signature dishes, salad and vegetables. You may wish to purchase a glass of wine from the impressive wine selection, or enjoy a coffee accompanied with their popular Chocolatier (chocolate Port).

Leaving Lambert Estate, travel to Mengler Hill Lookout for sweeping views over the valley and then onto your final stop for the day will be Pindarie, a multi-tourism winning cellar door, which feels more like an Australian Homestead than a cellar door. The friendly staff don;t just pour the wine; they share the stories behind the wines and Pindarie, a great way to finish off your Barossa Food & Wine Experience.

Your first stop is at the multi-award winning Jacobs Creek Visitor Centre where you will have the opportunity to sample their famous wines in a structured tasting, be taken on a tour of the surrounding wines and cellar door then enjoy morning tea as you overlook the vineyards.

Leaving Jacob’s Creek Visitor Centre, travel to Mengler Hill Lookout for sweeping views over the valley and then onto Saltram Wine Estate at Angaston. Here you will learn about Saltram’s 150 year history and taste some of the wide selection of quality wines from the stunning cellar door. After a  memorable cellar door experience, journey to the South Australian Company Store and Kitchen for a delicious lunch. The Company Kitchen draws on ingredients and traditions that are distinctly from the Barossa regional producers. You will enjoy a scrumptious 2 course lunch (including a tasting plate) along with wine tastings from two boutique Barossa wineries.

Leaving the Barossa, stop at the Herbig Family Tree at Springton. This hollow tree trunk provided a ‘home’ for Friedrich & Caroline Herbig and two of their 16 children until 1860. Travel to the picturesque Adelaide Hills and on arrival into Hahndorf (Adelaide’s oldest German settlement), you can choose between wine tastings at the boutique RockBare Cellar Door or free time to explore Hanhdorf’s main street with many shops and galleries full of local arts, crafts and produce and pubs where you can sample some German Beers.

Murray River Highlights

The Murray River Highlights tour departs Adelaide and travels to the mighty Murray River. On your arrival, board the Proud Mary and relax as you cruise the historic river enjoying the wildlife and surrounding scenery.
